Loren,

I have removed my dash pad in anticipation of shipping it out to the manufacturer and it appears in good shape, however it does appear that a previous owner has repaired one of the studs with JB Weld. It is still intact and sturdy. I hope this will not be a deal breaker?

JimL

Update: I took out the stud cleaned things up and tack welded a new stud in. I should be good to go!

I think that should be good.

What if we already mailed our core? Should I send this form in in an envelope?

If you included your return address, I think it will be fine.

Guys, its been a real long time since I've visited this site. CONGRATULATIONS to Loren for promoting/engineering this...something I tried a while back but had no serious interest. Did I read it correct that this manufacturer is in Tampa?
Someone send me the link and IF I can somehow be of assistance, just say the word!

Wheelz,

Thanks for the kudos.  It has been an interesting adventure getting this kick started again.
I sent the commitment payment today to the company that will be redoing the pads.

 PM sent

Wheelz,

 Loren

"commitment payment"

Does that mean you have received the full payment for at least 12 pads?

Is DPP following up with you verifying that they have received cores from everyone who has made a payment?

Also,  Can I expect the new dash pad I receive will have been made from my original core or someone else's.

John

Reality, I sent full payment for the 12 and I am waiting for a couple of payments to come in.

At this point, the manufacturer only has what I sent for the mold pattern to be made from.  Also, some of the payments that I have received did not include the personal information I requested be sent to me.
Having names and addresses is the only way I can confirm what pads the manufacturer has.

I will ask about the pad that would be returned.

Getting my same core back that I sent in is important to me. Thanks

I have no way of controlling this.
If it is imperative that you get "your" original base back, now is the time to reconsider moving forward on your part.

I'm gaining nothing financially out of this and have a considerable time investment, along with four pads that are committed to get this underway.
I don't even get my cores back or compensation for them.

Not sure what the importance of getting your original pad back would be.
Have personally replaced several dash pads and have never had a problem with one that doesn't fit properly. So, since everyone is supposed to have sent in a good pad base - that is the metal part of the pad as all the rest will be destroyed to make the new pad - why is it important to get 'your' base returned ?  :dontknow: Not being critical, just trying to understand.
