Re: Dash Pad reproduction for '65 Skylark/ Gran Sport - IT'S GO TIME !!

    Here we go!

The count down is ended . It is launch time to go on this.

I just got off the phone with the manufacturer and I have nothing but good news.

First off,
I need to send the total cost to the manufacturer in one payment. That said, I need collect payment of $464/ pad plus $35.00 return shipping . If you want a color other than black, add $25.00

The quicker I can send payment and a pad for making the mold, the faster this gets started.
Paypal or personal check to me.

Secondly, colors other than black are an additional $ 25.00 and must be included with payment.

You will need to send your core directly to the manufacturer.  This will keep from having additional shipping charges by not sending them to me. Pm or email me for the address of the manufacturer.

At this time it is looking to be approximately a three month lead time for turn around.  Your finished pad will be shipped directly from the manufacturer to you. Return shipping will run $35.00

Total to me is $499.00 plus color charge of $25.00 if necessary.

Loren

Good news! Thanks again for organizing this.

So what happens if we don't get all 12 people to fully commit and send the money to you?  Is the deal off?  Will you then refund the money to everyone?

Should we set a time period for people to get the money sent in?

John,

I am certain this will see the finish line.
But should it not get the twelve, yes, you would get your investment back.  I know many of the individuals personally that have signed up to make this happen.

Time is important, the manufacturer is in the stages of finishing up the current job they are on now and getting the finances to them in the next week or so would put our project in place for the next job on their schedule.

I have the pad that will be used for the mold, boxed and will go out to the manufacturer tomorrow. They will start once the payment for this initial run is in their hands.

Dan,

You are welcome.
In a sense it is kind of fun making this come together. I've always wanted to do a project for our Buick community. Looked into doing the steering wheels 25 years ago, just couldn't get the dots connected to make it happen.

Wheelz tried to make this go, but didn't get enough response to get it underway.   So I thought I would see if the time was right and  here we are.

I thank everyone that has stepped forward to get this task done. It is a big commitment for us all.

Post some pics of that fresh paint for us to be jealous of. Thanks for the quick payment.

Wow what a great project ! Wish I had a good core and extra$ for this right now!

What is required for a good core is that it can not have rust holes, the two threaded studs and all the mounting clips intact.
The condition of the foam and vinyl are not important. The original pad will be stripped down to the metal base. Then new foam and correct grain vinyl will be installed.
The pads will be manufactured in black with an option to have them dyed to your preference for an additional $25.
