Do you have to jack up engine to change left header

Yes, engine mounts have to be taken loose and engine jacked up as high as it will go before the drivers side exhaust manifold will come out. Don't forget to take the fan shroud loose if your car happens to be a factory AC car!

Remove the long through bolt from the D/S motor mount. Jack up engine. If they are actual headers they will come out from the bottom.
Disconnect battery!!!!
you will be right next to the POS.+ terminal on the starter. I'm not 100% certain you need to lift the motor to remove a stock manifold. I thought it would come out from the top even though it is caged between the steering column and the starter. I've had headers on the car for a long time; I just don't remember for sure.

My dad bought it knew it was a very early model I think they told us that it was the gm rule not to go over 400 cu so that called it a 400 insted of a 401 and took off 5 ft pounds of torque off air filter logo
