Doesn't your car have a 455 engine?  The engine in the illustration you posted is a 65 300 engine.

Hi Brian

It is! 462 actually but want to make it as close to stock appearing as possible....don't laugh :)

I can add adapters to the bracket if necessary.

I'm grateful for any suggestions though!!

Tony

Hi Tony, Brian, and caregivers of mid-60s Buicks with "extra eye-candy" . . . .  :sunny:

Why bother?  If you put enough chrome on the engine, nobody can tell if it is stock or not because of all of the glare!  :overthetop:

Just don't allow anybody near your engine who has polarized sunsglasses!  :glasses9:

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

The bracket is unique to the 65 300, I do know that.  64 was different because the heater hose connects to the rear of the intake instead of the front, and in 66 and 67, the valve moved up to the front of the engine and mounted to a bracket attached to the rear AC compressor support.

Hi Brian,

You're right. There is indeed a difference in location and how its mounted between a 300 and 455. However, on my motor we have an edelbrock performer intake and the source is in the back (just like the 300) so that bracket would help. The later cars that came with 455's had the source in the front of the manifold and was "mounted" via an insulator and small wire clamp to the return line (no bracket). I could mount it like that on mine too but I think it looks shabby...

Thanks,
Tony

Wheelz is correct with the one he has.  That is also the one used on '65 and '66 GS cars with A/C.

It mounts at the front of the intake.

I located one here for a v6, it may also be used on the 300 v8. Need to check the parts book to be sure.

Hi Wheelz,
Yes, I will take it! I will paypal.

Hi Loren,

The illustration shows that the bracket and valve mount to the back of the intake (that's on a 300 now) towards the firewall. Is it different on a nailhead?

Thanks for the help guys!!

Tony

Yes it is different, the big block one mounts at the front of the intake passenger side.

Finally found the part number of the bracket for the 300 v8 and 225 v6. It is the same for both.

If you want, I can post a picture of it. It is much different then the big block bracket.
