To you Buick Experts,

Does anyone have the Rear Brace and Rear Bracket for the A/C Compressor for a 1965 Skylark Gran Sport; I have the front bracket that sits over the alternator.  Also need the double pulley A/C compressor.  I'm relatively new to the Gran Sport.  The car is my wife's and I'm trying to restore it for her.
Her car has the stock steel valve covers not the "finned" valve covers, and the GS is a single 4 barrel carb not a "Dual Quad".  I was told that finned valve covers and the dual quad have different A/C brackets.  I have posted numerous questions and parts wanted on this website, and you Buick guys always come through.  Her car wouldn't be as far as it has gotten without your help.  Thanks, Richard

Thanks for posting that you located those parts.

I had been looking through my hoard, just hadn't located one yet.

Loren,
Appreciate that you were looking for those A/C parts.  I contacted all my 65 GS friends, and no had or new anyone that had that brace and rear bracket for the steel valve cover and single carb setup that is on the GS, was starting to wonder if I would find them.  I've got a lot of parts off this website, so when I didn't get any responses; I figured it is going to take a while. Richard,

You are so right that it sometimes takes awhile to find some of the parts.

I did finally come across a couple of the rear brackets in a tub of A/C parts just a couple of days ago.  Also found center vents and the outer A/C vents that I had put away.  Need to get more organized , I guess. LOL

Loren,
When I get into the dash, I made need some A/C vents, & other A/C parts if you are willing to sell them.  I am currently sorting & cataloging my 65 GS parts and boxing up the stuff.  Should of done this already.  I've found parts that I had completely forgot about.  Richard

Richard,

I have extra center vent and the correct duct piece. Also have the outside vents available.
About the only thing I don't have is the compressor hoses for a GS or the radiator fan shroud. Might have found another set of BB engine pulleys.  Need to double check them  first to be sure.

Loren.
Thanks for your list of available A/C parts.  Would you know if the brace and rear bracket for an original steel valve cover and single carb also work if I use those aluminum valve covers?  I was told that the rear bracket is different because the aluminum valve covers are a little taller? thanks Richard

You were told correctly.

If you use the aluminum valve covers, it takes a different bracket then I have.
