FYI: Addition to the Buick Club of America logo.
« on: February 10, 2016, 04:01:22 PM »
Dear mid-60s Buick lovers who are also into stylish clothing,

Not to detract from the purchase of 65GS.com apparel, but I just received a shirt I ordered from the Buick Club of America collection on GMPhotoGifts.com:

http://gmphotogifts.com/collections/buick-club-collection

I ordered two shirts last year.  The first was a denim shirt for colder weather and the other was a short-sleeve shirt for the car show season.  The denim shirt arrived in early January but the short-sleeve shirt never arrived, so GMPhotoGifts made a another one that just arrived today.  Something new has been added to the Buick Club of America logo:

I don't know if the "50 years of excellence" will be a permanent addition to the logo or not, but it is certainly appropriate on the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Buick Club of America.  By this odd fluke of luck, I have both versions of the logo.

FYI . . . . .

Cheers, Edouard

Buicks rare in this part of CA (Re: Buick Club of America logo.)

Dear Loren and mid-60s Buick lover . . . . seeking company

Are you the first one on your block to have such stylish fashion?

Uh well, I can safely say I'm the one and only person probably for a considerable range of square miles with such apparel.  Buicks are rare in Calfornia in part because Californians hasn't exactly felt much appeal to the phrase: "buy American."  About the only car that might get some purchases on that banner is the Tesla!  :angryfire:  There are lots of German and Japanese luxury cars and SUVs.  Sadly a very large proportion of "Prissies" - Prius  :crybaby2:

There are a few classic Buicks around in varying degrees of originality, but to see 4-6 Buicks at the same local car show is exceptional.  I'm sure you guys know that routine.  The one Buick that do you see commonly is the ~2000 Buick Century.  We have one that is holding up well after 15 years and there are a number of neighbors hanging on to their Century models as well.  In addition, clearly second-hand Buick Century cars can be found in various parking lots.  Sadly that feels to me like Buick's last "great car" (unless GM really does something to turn Buick around in a hurry.)

Oh well, . . . . Edouard
