Head studs
« on: February 03, 2016, 12:32:22 PM »
I've been told that the right front cylinder head mounting stud is longer on an air conditioned car than on a non-A/C car.  I presume to accommodate the compressor mounting bracket?  Can any of you confirm, please?

Thanks,

Chuck

Yes, it is longer.  But it is not a stud--it is a longer bolt without the stud on top of it.  The bracket sits on the head and the bolt goes through the bracket.  Poor design--to remove the bracket, have to remove the head bolt.  It is about 1/2 inch longer than the other head bolts.
