401 flywheel

HI I am looking for a flywheel for my GS so I can put back to 3 spd standard . On another note, I have all the linkage but the adjustable lower push rod. Can someone tell me how long it is and what size of thread it is going into the clevis.

Flywheel can be had from TA Performance in AZ.
I can check out the lower push rod later if someone doesn't post first.

Thanks Mark ;I checked TA's web they don't list a flywheel . I'll have to call I guess. I was also wondering if the push rod is hardened. I read some place that someone tried to straighten one and it broke. That makes me think that it could be hardened .

It's there - look under "Products" - "rotating assembly" - "flex plates and flywheels" - "billet flywheels" - TA_2037.

Don't know if that piece is hardened.

Yes, I found out the rod from pedal linkage to z-bar can break if you try to bend it.
Likely hardened to keep the bends in it from changing with use.

Don't know about the threaded rod. It's straight so it may not be hardened. I think it's 3/8"-24.

The lower push rod is definitely 3/8"-24 threads.  You can make one by starting with a grade-8,  3/8-24 bolt, cut the head off, then weld the clevis on in place of the head.  Weld a grade-8 nut onto the other clevis for it to screw into.  If you do it right, you won't be able to tell it from an original!

I am looking at a 66 Service manual. The linkage looks like the upper end is a threaded pipe with a clevis welded to it and the bottom is a fully threaded bolt   with a clevis welded to the end of it.

Thanks That's what I thought it looked like. I can thread a Grade 8 bolt.

When you heat by welding anything hardened it has to be re-hardened.
