Dear mid-60 Buick welcome wagon, . . .
First things first, Welcome Todd to 65GS.com!
My name is Todd and I was lured here from the v8Buick forum.
I cannot tell a lie, I'm
da' feller who laid that trail of breadcrumbs . . . . .
I am currently restoring a 65 Gransport convertible 4 speed car that has been in our family since new.
Your Buick is more lucky than my trusty wagon. She didn't join our family until we purchased her second-hand in 1968. After that though things definitely started looking up!
We are nearing motor install and interior, so we are rapidly approaching the little details which is of course where these things get really difficult. I will be posting up looking for some help on the stuff I'm missing and looking for your collective expertise to get this project on the road. My hope was to make the GS nationals this year, since the car is 50, but that is not looking possible. I've attached a few photos and look forward to getting to know everyone.
Keep the faith. My poor wagon spent her 50th birthday also without an engine, but things are looking up now. As you can see from the responses to your introduction, not only have you found an enthusiastic community, but a very knowledgeable one as well. Your restoration has just gotten quite a bit easier even if you don't realize it yet!
Best of luck getting your family heirloom back on the road!
Cheers, Edouard
