Hello,

Anybody have a set of black seat belts they would sell me?  Turns out mine are not correct.   Any help appreciated.

Check out OPGI.  New catalog just came out over the weekend.  They are now reproducing the deluxe seat belts for 65s in black.  They have the ones that are fixed, and also have retractors.   In addition, they have all the buckles, anchors and bolts sold individually for making your own.

Thanks Brian.  I must have reached the wrong person on the phone at OPGI.  I will try again.

The link is not to a set of DeLuxe seat belts. The links shows replacement seat belts.

Deluxe belts were an option.  I have come across several 65 GS cars that came with the standard belts.  The ones in the link are what came in the GS standard if you did not order retractors.  The add says replacement, but the ones in the picture look identical to the standard 65 belts.  The new paper catalog shows the deluxe belts if that is what is needed, but could not find them online.

I might have found the deluxe version but it says for 1966 rather than 1965.   Are these correct?  I already have a good retractor so I would only use the buckle side with the red decal.

Rob,

They look correct. You would need someone who can sew the belts. Correct belt have labels sewn to the webbing.

 :dontknow:

Maybe I'm missing something here. The retractors are not like the ones in any of my GS or Skylarks.

Yes Dan , I agree on the buckles. The retractors are like the Buick accessory ones that were for the standard belts.
My first GS had the standard belts. The other four GSs and a couple of Skylarks I've had all had the deluxe belts with the retractor that rolled up into the retractor with the plastic housing.

I have a correct set of retractors.  So if nothing else pans out and I were to buy these it looks like I could combine the two huh?

Dear Rob, Brian, Dan, Loren, and mid-60s Buick perfectionists, . . . .

Check out OPGI.  New catalog just came out over the weekend.

What do ya' mean new catalog!?!?!?!   Hay, I paid my "taxes" (put in a recent order to OPGI, .  :laughing7: )  Why was my trusty wagon not included in the mailing? .  What is this?  You need to have an installed engine in your car to get OPGI catalogs these days?  :icon_scratch:  It's discrimination - I tell ya!

They look correct. You would need someone who can sew the belts. Correct belt have labels sewn to the webbing.

. . . . You guys are - all - wrong!  :laughing7:  The standard seat belts are the ones for the . . . rear seats!   (That is after I took Biquette's original front seat belts, had them repaired, and had them installed in the rear where my Dad had put generic seat belts . . . . oh about 1973 or so! )

The front seat belts on Biquette are retractable seat belts that suspiciously look like 1968 GM seat belts reproductions from OPGI, but since the car upholstery guy didn't notice, surely you guys won't either . . . . right? . . .  :icon_biggrin:

Seriously, I hate the darn GM logo on the front seat belts.  Hook or crook, I'm going to replace that with a Fisher body logo one way or another.  That GM logo is . . . . so . . . 1968!  :BangHead:

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Here is the page from the catalog. Since it was such a hot topic, I bought it to work with me this morning and scanned it.
