The roads were closed in the hard hit areas because of the power lines being down .

John

I heard it was bad over in the Lake Ann area.

Is that near you?

We got our electricity back tonight.

Nothing like having a tornado in a snow / wind storm.

They say it's a record for earliest tornado in Minnesota.

No damage here yet but the winds are still over 45 in spurts.

We had 85 mph wind damage the last 2 summers at the Brainerd MN lake house.

It's amazing what wind can do.

Glad to hear you and yours are OK.

Wow John, you were blessed to be out of the path of that storm.  Certainly unexpected weather for this time of year.  Don't use all of your energy on cleanup this weekend.  Your GS will require some when you get back to it.

Guys , yeah this has been a crazy winter , and it aint over yet .
Milton , the winds over here aren,t suppose to let up till tomorrow evening sometime . It seems like that Brainerd area definitely gets its fair share of bad weather .
I think we've been setting new records all winter as far as weather .
I,ll be busy this weekend on the car though I hope . Lots of small parts coming in this week , fuel/brake lines should be here tomorrow .
1st batch of chrome stuff should be done this week also .
Dropping of more parts to be zinc plated this week too .
It,s all fun though !

Dear John, Chuck, and mid-60s Buick caregivers whatever the weather,

Well , I was hoping to have an update this weekend on the chassis being almost completed BUT  mother nature had other plans for our area .

WOW!  Glad indeed that your house (and GS) was spared.  Spring is starting and yep that's tornado season.  Everybody be safe in those parts of the country where those nasty storms are known to visit.

Well it seems like my restoration is in slow motion right now .    But I finally got the springs in , all the wheel cylinders in and brakes on .
Some of my chrome is starting to come back from the plating shop , AND A LOT of my $$$$$ is going out of my wallet . LOL
I had them do an estimate on my grill and tail lights , with that said I bet by the time I,m done at the plating shop i,m going to be somewhere between 6 & 7 k .   I keep telling myself this fun  :icon_biggrin:  and I tell my wife its an investment opportunity . LOL

Dear John, Chuck, and mid-60s Buick caregivers,

Well it seems like my restoration is in slow motion right now .    But I finally got the springs in , all the wheel cylinders in and brakes on .

Well it is progress and it does look very nice!  :hello2:

Some of my chrome is starting to come back from the plating shop , AND A LOT of my $$$$$ is going out of my wallet . LOL

Sadly it is a lesson I know only all - too - well!  Almost any problem can be solved if you open your wallet wide enough!  :BangHead:

Grin and bear it brother!  :angel4:

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Progress starting to pick up again , hardware starting to come back from the platers .
Waiting for the one piece trunk pan to get here , hopefully this coming week . another batch of chrome will get dropped off at J&D plating either tomorrow or tuesday .
Soon as I round up some front and rear brake drums the chassis will be a roller again .
