Well finished up the rotisserie today . Hoping this weekend to get the body off the frame and mounted on the rotisserie so I can get it off to the media blasters .
Then the real fun begins , fixing all the rust holes .

Dear John and mid-60s Buick automobile resurrection miracle workers,

Well finished up the rotisserie today . Hoping this weekend to get the body off the frame and mounted on the rotisserie so I can get it off to the media blasters .
Then the real fun begins , fixing all the rust holes .

Sorry that you car turned out to be in such tough shape.  Keep giving it all that 'luv! though.  It will be worth it when the da' patient comes roaring back to life!  :hello2:

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Nice job with the rotisserie, John!  I like the degree of adjustment capabilities built in.  The threaded rod looks like a nice feature.

It and the car will be full of media when you get them back!  :-)

Great way to end the year and look forward to the new one!

Cheers!

John,

I didn't go though your entire project thread, so the info might be there, but:
Is the rotisserie a kit?
Did you build it from plans?

Looks nice.

Mark ,   I just put it together going by photos of the one in Chucks and Kevin,s  ( Rollaround ) threads .
I built it really heavy and with a wide range of adjustability so it will accept a wide range of body styles .  I have few cars to do so I ,m hoping it will fit them all .

Well the body tub is mounted up and ready to be blasted  .   These rotisserie things are a little nerve racking for the first time . I,m going to weld in a few more gussets in a couple places just to calm my my nerves .
Time to schedule the body to get stripped and then start taking apart the frame .

Keep up the good work John!  :icon_thumright:

It is clear that you have lots of experience, so if you felt the need to reinforce your rotisserie, it was probably needed!

. . . Besides, if they ever manage to bring back to life a good sized dinosaur, Just imagine the backyard barbecue you could have with your rotisserie turning the ultimate white meat "bird!" . . . .

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Nice work John.   Let's hope the media blasting doesn't reveal too many surprises.  :nono:  :help:

Well the frame is all striped down and headed to the blaster either tomorrow or Tuesday . Got the epoxy primer , the GM chassis black came in this week along with the new headliner .
I was a little surprised on how long it took for the headliner to get here , from the date it was shipped it took 9 days .
Lots of parts coming this week to , almost like Christmas never ended .

You are starting to make that turn from the messy taking stuff apart phase to the fun putting shiny new things together phase!   :icon_thumright:

Keep plugging!  This will start looking up from here!  :angel4:
