Where are you going?
« on: December 14, 2014, 12:55:41 PM »
So.... with the popularity of our '65 GS's and so many events looking to highlight the 50th anniversary of the '65 GS.

I'm curious as to who is going to which event.

So far there is the  BPG event in May
                             BCA national in June
                             GSCA national in October

Any that I've missed?

Unfortunately with limited vacation time I will only be able to attend one event and that will be the Buick Club of America nationals.
Wish I had the vacation time to do all the upcoming events .

We don't have a '65 yet but are planning to make the BCA in June. We will do the first few days of the Power Tour which will put us in St. Louis then veer off for this.

I've already booked my hotel for BPG in May. There's a possibility of my attending one of the other two events, but it's too early to choose.

I have heard some good things about the GSCA lately, aside from the political BS of prior years.  :boxing:

Can only attend one of the three - also a case of limited vacation time.
BCA in June.

I wish that I could attend all three events. Unfortunately, time and distance is a factor. Since Springfield is only three hours drive away from home, that is a must for me to attend. If I can get the silver convertible back together in time, I will have two '65 GSs at the BCA Nationals.

I would like to encourage everyone to consider attending at least one on these Nationals events. Whether you have a fully restored GS, unrestored original, modified or custom GS, race car, or a daily driver, there is a class for your car. Having as many examples as possible of the '65 GS would be a welcome site at any car show. Imagine all the different color combinations and options that could be seen. There may not be many '65 GSs out there, but we are loyal owners to a fault. Gotta drive 'em to enjoy 'em!

Will be at the BCA event in June and maybe the GSCA show later in the year.

It should be noted that at the BCA event you only have to be a member of the BCA to have your car judged or on the show field on Saturday during the judging period. Otherwise, the meet is being held at a public hotel and you are free to have your car in the parking lot and enjoy the swap meet and view the cars. Even if you do not have a 65 Gran Sport this will be a great venue to view them.

The BPG event sounds great but .... Good news is that Saturday is just a car show and its $25 to attend.

Encourage everyone interested in the 65 Gran Sport to attend one of these shows.

Well.... IF I can get the title straightened out before then,  :icon_scratch:  BPG event in May is on my FIRST TO DO list...then the GSCA National in October.

...AND NOTE: ~ not to startle anyone or start a bunch of chatter but,  RUMOR has it that RL is trying to sell the GSCA to ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN and if thumbiddy doesnt step up AND soon... he, (RL) has indicated the 2015 GSNATS MAY BE his last...   :sad1:

It seems like more then just rumor , when you consider the fact that it is a letter in the GS-Xtra from Richard to the members of GSCA.

It would be a big loss to the Buick contingency if the GSCA club and the GS nationals  cease to exist.

Hopefully someone or some group will step up and take on the challenge of heading it up.
