Headlight Bezel
« on: April 27, 2009, 04:25:47 PM »
I'm in the process of cleaning my convertible since it's been sitting since 78.I wanted to take the bezels and grill out to do a good cleaning but had to take the headlight buckets out to get the bezels to clear.Seems the only other way for them to come out is to drop the bumper and that's not going to happen. What's the trick or is this the only two options i have? Thanks,Tom

Tom,
Removing the headlight bezels should not necesitate any adjustment to the bumper. Although the grill on a '65 is another thing . That does require bumper removal or at the very least major adjusting.

Loren, thanks for the reply.I think over the years the front bumper has been tweeked. When i did the right side i had to remove everything including the buckets.I took the left side apart and only had to remove headlights and retainer rings to get the bezel to slide out.It looks like a new car so well worth the time and aggravation.    Tom
