PROPER HEATER HOSE ROUTING

I have seen it on the inner fender and running along valve cover anyone know how long the heater hoses are supposed to be on a non air car

Definitely along the valve cover. No idea how long it should be. Believe it was originally a formed hose.

Dan, you are correct. It is a formed hose P/N 1372243 Gr.8.846.

He has researched this intensively and has one of the NOS formed hoses.  I think he is still searching for the other.

I have no idea what manual that came from. Found the image on my hard drive and its dated 2006. The same image is located on page 11-14 in the 1965 Chassis Service Manual.

Thanks Dan! You're right, service manual has the diagram. I'm thinking for my dual-quad setup the heater hoses probably should get rerouted over the fender because there's too much going on between the manifold and valve cover with the way fuel and vacuum lines are done. (It could be done, but it would be a challenge!)

Both Brian and Nuts465gs have dual quad setups on their cars. Hopefully they can post pictures of the hose routing or otherwise be of help.

Here's how it looks with the heater hoses tucked between the intake manifold and the valve cover. I believe this is how the Rivieras with dual quad route their heater hoses. The heater hoses have a molded bend on the one end. I got those at Carquest just by looking at the inventory they had hanging on the wall. Then I cut to length.

That's great! Thanks. Is that a clamp off that forward manifold nut? I think I'll also redo my fuel lines to be as clean as yours! (Whoever did mine likes to bend tubes!)

There is a clamp/wire bracket that bolts to a special bolt location on the intake manifold just for that bracket. The heater hoses are held in place below the bracket which also acts as a clip for the alternator and temperature sending unit's wiring.

Here is how they are routed on my AC car with 2-4s.  This pic was taken years ago before I took the car apart and restored it, but they are routed the same now.
