Mark - Yea, not a lot of posts lately. We've had some flooding in Sept. Moved 50 yards of Wyoming top soil (i.e. sand and rocks) from my driveway and back yard last weekend. Picked up a new argon bottle this morning. Finished the underneath of the car last week and will prep and paint the firewall this weekend. Plan to drop the body back on the frame before winter hits hard. Already have had snow here and 21F this morning.

I was busy today making a trip about 10 miles south of my place.  :hello: :icon_biggrin: Met this dude with some parts and a really nice 69 Biscayne 2 door post car sporting a 4 speed and an L72 engine. :cheers2:

Check your PM's Mark. :occasion14:

I've been getting ready for winter.... firewood duty.
My neighbor gave me permission to cut up some trees downed last year by hurricane Sandy. I cut sections from this ancient Ash and moved them to my woods. Split them, loaded into my '91 F-150 (I bought it new) and trucked it across the stream and up to my house. Been at it for a few weeks now. Free heat isn't so free if you count the labor!

hey Mark, buickmiester here? need help with carb problem? it's been rebuilt but when i start the car, the carb spews gas out the top side bleeder holes? could there be some sort of blockage in the carb or fuel filter? this happens Only on the linkage side, the other side is dry? ( baffled in Minneapolis) thanks! Any info would be Greatly Appreciated.

buickmeister--your float on that side of the carb is not sealing off when the fuel level comes up in the bowl.  Either the float has a hole in it and is sinking, or the needle/seat are bad letting fuel pass by it even when closed.  I had one do that no too long ago and it had a brand new needle/seat in it--they were defective out of the box.

I spent the first part of the weekend finishing up the rebuild of the 4-speed in James Scarboro's '65 GS.  Has a new Centerforce II clutch in it now as well.  Anyone ever seen a T10 with a cast iron side cover on it?  I have heard they existed, but this is the first one I have ever come across.  Trans is numbers matching to this car, along with the engine.  Best I could tell, the trans had never been apart.

Also...  I realized something when working on cleaning up his shifter assembly.  It has a coil spring in the bottom of the mechanism to make it tighter and easier to find the gates.  Mine is missing that spring and that explains why my shifter is so sloppy.  Anyone know where I can get one of the correct springs to put in mine?

I just had an experience with a bad float-
Car has run great for 6 years- started flaking out at lower rpm's, then did what yours did- gas pouring out-
Finally took carb apart and float was full of gas.  New float fixed it.

Brain I have seen a few iron side covers but not many! also have seen the very rare iron tall shaft with the GS cast into it! , very earily date code! here are some pics of out west

The super t-10 that was in the 65 behind the 455 had a iron side cover. But i broke that trans, shoved the shaft out of the bottom and slip the case from front to back.  :angry1:
