Hello everyone,

I'm looking for opinions/advice on buying a 220V mig.  I'll primarily use it for sheet metal but I wanted the additional power of the 220V machine versus a 110V machine.  Plus I have a 240V 40A plug in my garage.

I'm asking here rather than a welding forum because they all say go with the one of the big three.  However, I'm not looking for nor do I need an industrial unit, although I would absolutely buy a Miller if the price were right.

I'm open to any and all advice.

Thanks in advance.  Hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend.

I got a used 220v Century from Ebay about twelve years ago for $350 shipped.  It was from a shop.  It has be used here on everything from thin sheet metal to 3/8" plate steel. I go between .023" and .030" wire.  It is not pretty, but it works flawlessly.  Maybe you could find a similar deal on a used one?
