Buickmiester,

ST65: 1965 model year
44437: 4xxxx = Buick motor division
           x44xx = Skylark Deluxe
           xxx37 = two door hard top body
DD : Astro Blue body with an Astro Blue top
TR151: Blue interior/ bucket seats
The "4" in the last line refers to GS option.

As for the rest, someone else will need to chime in.

The line of codes at the bottom from your Flint Built GS are the Body by Fischer options.
The first group:
  W = tinted windshield only
2nd group
  X = automatic transmission
  G = automatic transmission console
  P = not sure at this time
3rd group
  nothing listed
4th group
  S = Gran Sport trim
5th group
  W = custom seat belt with retractors

Hope this helps.

John

Th 2 P could be back up lights, according to Duane Heckman who decoded my trim tag several years ago. The rest match what he gave me.  :thumbsup:

You guys may be interested to know that 2P is back-up lamps for a GTO..... It's very possible it's the same for our Buicks.

Walt,

Very interesting post. That link is really great. On the few cars that I have seen with the P code, and really took the time to look over the car, they did have backup lights.

It was great meeting you at the Extravaganza Buickmeister. Hope to see you and your car on the road soon.
