Thank you guys for the warm welcome.

Milton
I do need something.  I'm looking for any source of concrete information on the Dearborn 3 speed.  Specifically, I need a front bearing retainer.  The throw out bearing sleeve is no longer attached to the retainer flange.  The Ford (Top Loader) retainers have different measurements.

John
I've owned it since April, 2012.  Sat in storage, near Salem, Oregon, for the last 25 years or so.  Don't have a lot of documentation but I do have the Protect-O-Plate which I think is pretty cool.

RVA65GS

I am not a authority on the Dearborn 3 speed but this is a great place to ask.

The search function in the upper right hand corner of the Forum can also be very helpful for information already documented here.

Welcome Joe!
Neat car, it's nice to see it find it's way here. It was briefly in the Philadelphia, Pa area (near me). Is that where you bought it from?

The front bearing retainer is PN 1373910, found in Group 4.353. It's official name is 'Drive Gear Housing Retainer'.
It's possible a Ford retainer can be modified to fit. I had to modify a Richmond 5 speed retainer to fit my '66. I had the flange turned down to fit the bellhousing, and had the shaft turned down to fit the Buick clutch release bearing. Maybe something can be modded to fit the GS.
I have a Ford 4 speed downstairs from my '67 Fairlane.... I'll take a look at it this weekend to see how it compares to my Buick 4 speed.

I have a lathe in my garage and can help you out with the machining if you determine a Ford one can be modified to work.

Thanks, for the info. Walt.  Yeah same car.  The person I bought it from sells a lot of stuff on eBay.  He had a '63 Galaxie 427R convertible on there.  I think bidding went to $95,000 and it didn't sell.  A little out of my price range.

Thanks, Brian.  I have a buddy here in town that can help me with machine work.

 Hi,

Welcome aboard,  good to see a nice post car, I got one about a year ago with help from Dan

Your bearing retainer should be easy to find from a knowledgeable trans shop you may have to modify one, if you need any measurements I have a trans sitting in my garage

Well nice car hope you've been putting some miles on her as the are fun to drive

Regards,
Jim

this car was rescued from a wrecking yard in Dallas Oregon back in the 80's by my friend Alan, the engine was blown up so he installed a 63 or 64 wildcat engine. he ended up selling the car to a man in McMinnville oregon who played with the car for a few years before parking it in his barn while he ran his english car parts business. he had the engine rebuilt when he had the car. he sold the car to a flipper who promptly put it on Ebay and that is how i ended up with it.  I replaced a rocker arm that had lost it's wear pad and installed the newer model AFB. the car was very powerful once tuned and would light up the tire easily from 20 mph in second gear.  Nice to see it found a good home. I miss it and kinda wish i'd kept it.
