Hello:

Can anyone post pictures of the factory-correct trunk jack parts?  What is the parts list? Thanks

Steel wheels or factory mags ? Think there is a difference.

The only difference I can find from my parts books, is in the handle/lug wrench.
The plain steel wheel uses a smaller lug nut. Handle part #3909176 used from'61-'66
Chrome wheel uses a larger nut . Handle part #3899548
The latter handle #3899548 is used on all models '61-'70 except Specials,Skylark and GS with plain steel wheel.

Parts book list 2 types of jacks 8.820 #1396635 and #1377517, but it also lists 3 different bases? 8.820#1372501,#1372494,31368985. I have seen 2 styles of jacks used 1 is a T shape and the other is a stamped square . There were 3 different suppliers to GM: auto specalties ( brown tape on jack), universal tool & stamping(red tape on jack) , and california jack co ( no tape). Which one is right for your car might be a mystery? I have a early build GS and my car has the square jack in it! is right yes! is it the one that came with my car? Been trying to figure that out for years? Hope this helps! Jon

John,
Now that is an interesting one , neither of my parts books list p/n 1377517 in the jack description area.
But under the base area it shows base p/n 1372501 used with jack p/n1396635 and jack p/n 1377517

That ,to me, suggests that those are the same shape jacks.

My '65 only parts book lists it as complete, less handle.
The other book covers 1940 to 1969

Makes it clear as mud?

I took some pics for you. I have no idea whether or not this is the factory jack for my car. I can only assume it is. It looks as though it's been repainted at some time and I didn't find a single "parts" number on any of the pieces. I have the mag wheels. I tried taking pics of the only markings I could find and that was a single letter on one of each of the pieces, minus the base. There was no marking at all on the base. Hope this helps. The top of the lug wrench has an E on it. The round stud on the jack, (I don't know what else to call it) has an F on it and the curved piece has an A on it.
