Tom,

If it has an M22 you would hear it. M22's have straighter cut teeth than the regular transmission gearsets and have a fair amount of whine.

Dan

While driving the car home, I suspected the M-22 trans, based upon the whining noise you describe. Going through the paperwork at home confirmed that fact. :hello2: I have no issues with that trans, nor any immediate plans to replace it.

Thanks for all the replies. I already have ther pedals, but as I said, the linkage is a cable type, which works OK, just wanted to change to the correct items if possible. Think I will pass on this one.

My bellhousing is from a Bendtsen in Ham lake, MN. I wonder if the factroy linkage would even work with that??

Now you are asking the right question!   I think the answer is no, as pointed out

T. From what I have seen of your bell it has the fork like the small block and the other three pont. olds. chev. You might look at American Powertrain's Hydrolic kit If you want to smooth thing's out $550.00 Probably cheaper than going org.-Glenn

see page 54 here   http://www.65gs.com/65%20Buick%20Gran%20Sport%20Service%20Manual/1965%20BUICK%20SKYLARK%20GRAN%20SPORT%20SERVICE%20MANUALindex.html

see the original stuff looks nothing like any other I know about...the throwout bearing is activated by a lever on a shaft rather than a clutch fork.
Bendtsen's made it simple to use something like the cable or hydraulic.

Thanks again Ted!  :occasion14: Looks like the hydraulic would be the way to proceed, should a change in linkage be warranted. I better speak directly with Bendtsen about a replacement cable in the meantime.
