No data on the site but looks to have tilt wheel and power windows in a hardtop car.

This one has me suspicious.  I have a bunch of pics Mark Ascher gave me years ago of a car in PA for sale and it sure looks like this is the same car.  Here are a few pics of the one I am talking about.  What are the chances of a GS that color, with a white roof, white interior, PW, and no AC?   If it is not the same car, I would be surprised.  If it is the same car, I would check it closely, because the older pics I have of it show alot of rust.

I just noticed another detail that makes me more convinced--they both have a tilt column.

I don't remember seeing one like that when I visited Steve's collection. It might have been gone by then , though.

Steve had one just like it in his collection, I last saw it the Summer of 2001. It needed work, I remember that the top was very rusty or it had a vinyl that was taken off and the glue was there. I would have thought about buying it but it was Green and I already have a green 65. I may have some photos of it I will check. When I went back in 2003 to pick up the Red GS I don't remember seeing it..

Tony,

I went through the old original Registry Archives of Steve Shuman's GSs. He listed all the options for his Turquoise Mist GS hardtop. It did not have power windows or a tilt column. Therefore, the GS for sale is not Steve's old hardtop. Considering that power windows and a tilt column are relatively rare options, its quite possibly that its the same GS from Brian's post.

Hi Jon,

Strange? No, not really . . . .I screwed up. I had written down the codes on another sheet of scratch paper to research and makes my notes . The last two codes I had forgotten to copy over. The last two codes were R1= Power Windows and S7= Tilt Column. My bad. So this GS hardtop is most likely Steve's. Thanks for catching my error.

John

This car was bought out of a Copart salvage auction Jan.20th just about a month ago.The pictures listed are the exact same ones Copart had up on it's salvage site. i would ask alot of questions about this one.    Tom
