Dash Pad

How difficult is it to locate a nice one  ? No rips, tears , breaks, ect.  Ideally the Gray for White int, but could dye a black one.

Just finding any 65 dash pad in that condition is quite difficult. To locate a gray one would be a real find. If you dye one which specific color would you use ?

I use SEM products to restore/refresh vinyl. I booked marked another thread someone had a code that said it was a perfect match for the factory gray.

Has anyone priced just dashes ? I'm  guessing $600.00-1k ? I know they are not cheap.

They show up from time to time. I know good ones are still out there. I sold about 8-10 extras I had. Some were better than others but at least 6 were near perfect.

I usually got $250-$350 for the best ones. I did sell a few for $150-$ 225 that had some imperfections but not all cracked up or split.

Hi,

One word of caution using one that has been weathered, is when you install it be careful not to crack it, i did that goof last spring on the one in my car as the material is fairly stiff and trying to smack the clips in to place takes a little effort

I looked at this car and was supprised at how nice the pad looked as the rest of the interior was trashed not sure if the owner before Mike had it covered as the dash was nicer looking when compared to the seats and door panels

I had Just Dashes quote last year, think it was $764 and of course they would have to see the dash to finalize. Also got a quote from Dashboard Restorations for $550.

Thanks. Sounds like they apply a new substrate and vinyl over your original  metal core. Probably just as well send in the bad one instead of spending $ for one that needs repaired anyways.

I have a guy that comes to my shop, picks up the pad, repairs it & brings it back. Has been done in the pasy for as little as $125.00 & as much as $275.00. Of course this all depends on overall condition. He will usually give me a ball park $$$ EST. before he leaves. If there is anything that pops up he will give me a call for any options. I've been pretty happy with the work he has done so far for the last 8 or so yrs.
