Rust!
Frame looks like a quilt, and the quarters are probably 1/2 an inch thick! But the prior owners did a pretty good 80's resto job, and it hasnt really deteriorated much since. Although the lacquer will take on water spots like a coffee table if I dont keep fresh wax on it.
But what I really love is the way it runs..strong and consistent. I ran a couple of 10ths off my best that day (it was 85 degrees and 90% humidity) - 15.0 at 90 mph all the way through a field of probably 30 cars in my bracket. I lost in the final eliminations to a mid 60's Dodge A-100 pick-up with a healthy small block - I was faster but he was right on his dial.
I'm running again on October 15th - with better fall air I hope to hit 14.6 - 14.7. Anyone in the NY/NJ/CT area care to join me?
