For my Q-Jet Project, I have a CA chrome air cleaner, with the hole in the the left front for the breather tube, but my car is not a CA car.... Does anyone have a chrome oil cap and breahter assembly they'd like ot sell

OR

Trade a 49 state chome Q-Jet air cleaner for a CA version?

The image with that product looks like an oil filler cap. The breather is located towards the front of the valve cover.

Thanks Dan, that was my concern.. dont know whether they just show some "stock image' on the website or thats what it really looks like...Either way, it's probably not chromed.

The one shown in your photo is the one I'm looking for...

Thanks, Rhett

I have a CA emissions valve cover that has the correct cap on it (not chrome though), and has the correct grommet in the front for the breather.  It is for sale cheap if you can use it--$20.   It is in excellent shape.

Aha! Now I get it!

The Breather is NOT the oil cap like on 49 state cars - so the Stant illustration is correct.

I'd love to use that, but I have the alloy valve covers and would like to keep them on the car. I'll probably modify a 49 state oil cap by welding on a breather outlet to the top...

Here's a pic of the breather from my '66 Ca car.
Part number is 1364792 or 1367396 for the chrome version. group 1.76

Brian, that valve cover is the standard cover used on 1966 models. Even my August-built 65 has that cover. Solid plug was used in the front hole on 49 state, grommet for breather on Ca-emissions version. But my 65 covers  don't have the front hole cut out.
Did most 65's have the pvc at an angle, or straight up? late 65 and 66 was angled.

It has been my experience that the '65s with the stamped steel covers have the PCV angled toward the carb and rear.  The '65 aluminum covers have the PCV striaght up.  I don't think the aluminum covers with the angled PCV valve came out until '66.
You are correct that the cover I have for sale is the same as a regular cover with the exception of having a grommet in the front hole instead of a plug.  The value in the one I have is the correct, original fill cap, correct grommet, and the fact the cover has zero pitting on it and would be great for chroming.
