gear&pinion set
« on: April 29, 2010, 08:14:39 PM »
My eaton rear end came today and now to select the right ratio and as I look at the richmond and the yukon 3.36 ratio they both say they may be noisy is that common with the 3.36 gear because the 3.55 and up does not have this disclaimer.I like the 3.36 ratio because at 57mph on a 28in tire I'll be @ 2300rpm.
                                              Thanks for your insight.

There was a thread on V8Buick about this. I'll post back if I find it.

Proper setup is important to keep the noise down.
Your best bet is to contact a pro like Jim 'Monzaz'. He's on V8, or visit his website here:

Nice forum here:

He's located in Ohio. Might be worthwhile having him set it up if it's not too far from you.

Thanks Walt,That was a great thread. Sounds like I should leave this part to the pro's.What do you think of running a 3.36 gear in your 66GS?
