Stainless Acorn Lug Nuts

 I was thinking that I had a couple originals on my parts car and I thought they were 13/16 but any of the replacements I have seen are 3/4. Is the 13/16 original to 65 or the 3/4 oem. I remember some other repops being made that were the large size.

3/4"x 20 were for the A-Body cars.
13/16ths was for the larger cars, like Riviera.

 That makes sense?I think the ones from inline tube that are reproduced are also 3/4. The 13/16 lugs must have been on larger studs. Thanks

 I have 20 NOS lug nuts still in the original boxes. Four boxes each containing five lug nuts. Bummer is that those are in Nebraska but we are now in Florida. Darn it.
 I could measure them to be sure, but I believe 13/16" is correct and if I recall correctly, a different lug wrench was required.

Now you guys have me guessing that those were off my parts car. I sold an original 65 GS convertible several  years ago?.maybe to someone on this board. It was tan with saddle interior and needed total restoration. I am almost certain it had 13/16 lug nuts and they were to the factory road wheels. If that was the case they would have only been used on cars with the wheel option. I did buy a new set from inline tube that look correct but I have not seen any 13/16 reproduced for the 7/16 stud. As stated 1/2 studs would all be 13/16.

Correct size is 13/16 and you will need a 61-66 big car lug wrench which used the same part number! I will look them up if I have time! 13/16 where used 65-68 on road wheel equipped abodies! The later years and I believe all other gm abodies where 3/4 ! One of the big expenses of repopping the correct 13/16 in stainless!!! I did almost 30 sets! Would hate to see the cost on them now!!! Look at the 1965 lug nuts post under rims and tires !

I needed to pull out a set of lug nuts for Bill Sangster's '66 GS. Bill was planning to enter his '66 GS in the World of Wheels this coming April. He had asked me for a set of lug nuts so the '66 could wear a set of sport wheels.
So, I figured, since I was taking care of that, I might as well show the differences in what is available out there.

 The two on the left are a couple of aftermarkets I've bought over the years. They measure 3/4" The first one has a more correct dome.
The second from the left has a slightly peaked dome. Again, both of these are 3/4".
 Number three from the left is the stainless lug nut that gssizzler had reproduced. Number four is an original '65/'66 lug nut. Both of these are 13/16". Other than the appearance of the stainless compared to the originals chromed finish, they are dimensionally the same and look the same. The sides are exactly the same as is the dome of the nut.
 Just my opinion, looking at any of these installed on a car, most people could not point out the imposter from the original. lol
