Inner Fender Cushions
« on: February 07, 2021, 11:16:15 AM »
Does anyone know of a source for replacements for the rubber (buttons, bumpers, cushions, etc.) that are installed in the inside lower inner fenders and provide cushion against the frame?  I've got a couple of originals that came out of my restoration, but the rubber is so hard they don't want to be reinstalled.  I've looked at a lot of sources, but can't find these.  They're about an inch in diameter, about an eighth inch thick on the top and fit into a quarter inch hole in the inner fender.

 :cheers2:

Here's a Riviera part.
I don't know if it fits the requirement, dimensions are not given by either vender.
Rubber the Right Way has the part for $4

Steel has what looks to be the same part for $18.25

Both parts plus shipping.
Hope it helps. My batting average with parts has been pretty bad lately.

Thanks guys.  I'm looking at generic stem bumpers to see if I can find something close.  I'm also going to take another shot at installing the originals.  Considering the Polar Vortex, maybe some heat would help!

Hey Chuck... try soaking them in brake fluid for a few hours. Youll need to use pliers (read GENTLY) on the stems to pull them back in.... ws

Thanks Bill.  I decided to have more patience and was able to install them.  But I never did find a suitable replacement.
