Differentials, Axles & Brakes / Re: Decal info needed

Hey Dan, I recently acquired the Shuman convertible. It is a survivor GS. It does not have A/C. In the many pieces of memorabilia of this car is the same tag. It looks as though this tag is common to either A/C equipped cars and non- A/C cars.

Congrats on the new addition to your fleet!

Is there any other documentation (e.g. other interior hang tags, starting instructions? etc.) to share?

I am looking into possibly reproducing these hang tags - keep everyone posted.

I don't have any knowledge with the AC cars, however heater box covers were sealed to the firewall with caulking. 3M strip caulk I'd expect to be avail to you locally. It can be used on the door panel water shields, and to seal various trim hardware where it goes thru a body panel. It's a good item to have around.

For custom gasket making, a sheet or roll of 1/8" sponge neoprene is another useful product to keep in stock. I've used it for vent door seals, heater box seals, and qtr panel extensions on my 66's.

Your car looks great!! Congrats on the progress, it's coming together very nicely!

Here's one from my archive... I THINK this was only for a/c cars, and NOT heater-only cars??? Anyone know for certain?

Hung from the climate control levers.

Happy to provide a nice scan if anyone want to make some.

bump... Anyone know if this hang tag was for (A) only a/c cars or (B) ALL cars?

Photo of under dash heater box.

Forgot to mention, I've found a new upholsterer who is coming to my shed on Saturday to fit the replacement headliner, hopefully I will have some nice photos to post when its installed.

Thanks Marcus

Hi Buick Men,
I reached a milestone last week finishing the brakes on the Skylark, now I can move and stop it from the driver's seat.

I have two questions regarding the AC and heater box

AC - is there a gasket between the firewall and AC unit?. I don't recall one and the service manual has no reference to one. It looks like the mating face on the AC unit has ridges moulded into it that hold the AC slightly off the firewall.

Heater box - is there a seal between the heater box and steel duct directing air to the dash vent?

Thanks in advance

Marcus

Parts For Sale / Re: New 65/66 GS Engine Mounts for Sale
« Last post by Profgearhead on May 30, 2025, 01:21:28 PM »
As you all know, the engine mounts for the 65 and 66 GS are unique to that application only. The base that attaches  to the engine is the same as the mount on the big car. The U shaped channel that attaches to the body mount is the part that is unique

I got a machine shop to make me several sets of the U channel and bought several mounts at a NAPA store, then I sent them off to Steele Rubber to make me new mounts.  I just got them in the mail today and fitted a set of them to my engine and they are perfect.  For your information, the Steele part number is 70-1890-11.

I have 3 extra sets to sell. I would like $200 per set, which covers my expense and a couple of tall cool ones.  I am not out to make a fortune, just want to cover my costs and help out others who are left in the cold needing a set of mounts.

These should fit in a USPS flat rate box that will cost about $10 to ship.  Your check for $210 made out to Ted Becker along with your mailing address will get you one of these fine sets of mounts.
