Went to Back to the Fifties at the MN State fairgrounds. Showed up at 5:50 am for the swap meet.
After "swapping," walked around for 3 or 4 hours. Buick items of interest posted.

After I got back, I went to a neighbors house to work on his 67 Riviera GS. Original paint, interior, etc. 47,000 miles, and his dad bought it new. The brakes have had been inop since he got this car 5 or 6 years ago. All the wheel cylinders are leaking, RR especially bad. Should be a simple operation once I get all the parts.

Sounds like a great Father's Day.
I got my vert out and gave it a good run of about 40 miles in the sunshine. Wife and kids were with me, we took a sack lunch up into the local foothills and made a picnic out of it.
Days to treasure.......

Lazy day, my dad and my step mom came over for a lunch. Dad forgot we were planning on going to the nine o'clock service so we could be ready, so when they got out of church (different church) they went to coffee to give us time to return home. We, over course, were at home waiting for them with lunch made. Can't complain, dad turned 90 in May, so being a little forgetful is fine. They drive a 2005 Buick LeSabre, very much an old folks car. Odd thing is, dad is a faster driver than I am. Has a hard time walking, but still seems to drive ok.
One if my daughters was here and spent some time with me (she is 16 and love to be with friends so it was a sacrifice) and the other one is in Peru doing summer school with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I miss her and worry about her, she is a small, petite 19 year old that is too good looking for her own good. Manages to deal with the guys with no problem, but I still worry about her.
I didn't get to play with a car on Sunday, but maybe next year I will have one on the road and I can take my wife for a ride down town. Today I am working on trying to correct a patch job some else did on rusty kick panels. It has become obvious that to do it right you mush have the body off the frame and a good parts car for donated parts. I have all the parts, but I am not going to pull this body, repair will be the best I can do without access to the inside rocker panels........... Going out now to start cutting out the patch parts for the driver's side.......

My daughter gave me a card that read:
Cover - "You made me what I am today"
Inside - "A giant smart-ass, oh also, I'm good looking, thanks for both of those"
"Happy Fathers Day, Love Morgan"
I suppose I should expect nothing less nor more from a 16 year old. :tongue3:
I packed up the car and headed to Pennsylvania so I'm be at on-site for a meeting on Monday morning.
Does this mean it's down hill from here? :confused3:

Hey Chris,
I also have a 16 year old daughter and it sounds like she thinks like your daughter. What your daughter wrote on your card could have come from Jennea..... The next couple of years are going to be fun.....

I've already told her that the day she turns 18, my wife and I are packing our bags and moving away and we aren't telling either kid where we've moved too. :laughing7:
She's a good girl most of the time but boy do I have my hands full at times.

I was all set for some "shed time" on the Rallye 350, I know the '65 GS 'vert would be glaring over my shoulder the whole time. My 15 yo daughter was feeling poorly, urgent care said to take her to emergency room...appendicitis, appendectomy, home by 6 pm. Wonders of modern medicine.
She's feeling much better, jonesing to get back on her horses.
An interesting Father's Day!
