not mine but may have a good ratio not sure if 64's had the same wheel bearings as the 65 GS/wagons

That would be a 3.23 rear end--think I better call the guy and go get it since that is just 30 miles from my house.

Looks like a good buy.
My Buick parts books shows the 65 GS uses the same axle and rear wheel bearing as the 64-65 Sportwagon, so it should be the HD version. Double check to be sure..... I don't believe the Special station wagons got the HD rear, just the Sportwagons!
BTW, the '64 used a small diameter upper control arm bushing. Expect to pay more for replacements.

I talked to the guy last night and am going to go down there later this week. Getting if for Mark Dolittle's 64 that he is converting to a 4-speed, so it will be perfect for that since this came out of a 64.

Went down and looked at the rear end tonight. Took the cover off and it has a 3.08 gear and I already have plenty of 3.08s laying around so I left it there. I thought all the sportwagons came with a 3.23 gear? The car was a sportwagon, not a special wagon. If someone wants an original Factory Buick luggage rack, he saved that off of it and it is very straight. Needs chrome work though.
