Title: 65 Dashboard Panel (cowl/windsheild panel)?
Post by: jmos4 on March 14, 2011, 12:58:06 PM
Hi,

I read the windsheild repair article very helpful, but was wondering what is the correct part number or year for the dashboard panel?
Year one list 1 for 66-67 (aj839)
Orginal Parts Group list one for 64-72 (846410e)

Are they all the same?
Who has used whos products as I would perfer to use a made in the usa piece and something made to the factory sheet metal thickness

Thanks for any information,
Jim

I forgot to mention I was looking under Chevelle and I just looked at Ames Performance and they list a (G134K) for a 64-67 Lemans/GTO which should I be looking up or are all A-bodies the same in this area?

Thanks again,
Jim

Hi all,

Well I had my windshield removed today and now have a question on changing the cowl/windsheild panel

I saw the write up in the project and resto section yet 66 is spot welded in to place and 65 is part of the dash so anyone have a step by step for this?

Has anyone done this and how hard is this to do, having to butt weld the whole length of the dash?

I am not the greatest welder and was thinking it was like the 66 write -up now I feel  I am in over my head.

Just FYI I ordered one from OPIG and seems to be correct.

Thanks,
Jim
