Title: Carburetor Auto/Manual
Post by: nailr65 on October 11, 2010, 05:14:44 AM

I'm a car buff but still educating myself about certain things.  Question:  What is the difference between a carb for and automatic transmission and a manual transmission?

Check the manual- (this website is awesome!) page 47 has the info on the carbs.

The automatic carbs have the vacuum passage for the distributor advance located below the throttle plates.....that is considered 'manifold vacuum'. The manual tranny carbs have the vacuum passage right at the throttle blades....that is some sort of 'ported vacuum'.
