Title: Engine Detail
Post by: blueaggie on September 25, 2010, 02:55:48 PM
Just received my completed, in-engine detail job.  Very happy with it!  I included a pic of the engine from February 2010 to show the difference.  My detailer, Ross Somerville, out of Concord, NC, did all this with just the hood having been removed.  The skill level of some of the people I've met is amazing.

I've got more engine pics and some old ones for comparison on my facebook page if anyone is interested.

Very nice.  What did that cost, if you don't mind my asking?

Right around $600.

Just FYI James, the oil fill cap is supposed to be painted the same green color as the engine, not black.  If you have the paint he used, that is easy to fix.

That's better!
I believe the valve cover bolts and maybe the rubber plug should be green too?
And to add the finishing touch, correct hose clamps would do it......were they the tower clamps or wire spring clamps in '65?

You're so correct Walt.
Blueaggie, non of us are trying to degrade your work. So please don't feel offended. I think we are all trying to help each of us have the most accurate and beautiful GS.
Looking very good!
Loren
