Hi,

Here's the link:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/186870634607?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=8XTaDhvGSEa&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=WejFx8kyQBy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY (https://www.ebay.com/itm/186870634607?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=8XTaDhvGSEa&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=WejFx8kyQBy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY)

Little pricey, now to prove it's original or a repop as I remember some company making them.

Regards,
Jim

It's Repop.

Whoo! Tempting...

A chrome shop isn't likely to be able to save one of these if it's all pitted out.

How to tell a re-pop?

Were the re-pops of decent quality?

Yeah, too much money, but just so front/center...  :dontknow:

Not a reproduction. True NOS GM.

Be sure to pick up a reproduction hood ornament spacer bracket - details here:

Dear mid-60s Buick caregivers with an eye toward perfection,

And just like that... We take the bait...

$720.25 with tax and shipping!!

Nobody said perfection was cheap!  (https://www.canebas.org/WeatherCat/Forum_support_documents/Custom_emoticons/eek-sign.gif)

When you finally do get your hands on it, please take a few photos to share with us.  The photos on the ad didn't seem to do the ornament justice.

Here you go...

Interesting they didn't include pics of the box in the listing.
Not that it guarantees a genuine part,
But helps lend legitimacy.

What you guys think?
Not a super show-perfect item,
but they aren't that way originally, right?

Is this thing genuine, or a re-pop?

100% original.

The repo was made from a broken original and you can see where it was broken. Second, on the repro one of the shields touches the out rim - which toured does not. Third, the repro tri shield foil is not as “crisp” - yours is very detailed

Title: Expert opinions? (Re: 65 GS hood ornament)

Dear Clatter and mid-60s Buick judges of "horse flesh,"

Thanks for the photos.  The eBay listing suggested that the front side had faded a bit.  Your photos prove otherwise.

I've seen both the OEM and reproduction hood ornaments.  This one sure looks original to me.  Any other opinions from the experts in the audience?
