Title: Making Black Plastic Shifter Sliders For The Long Console
Post by: option B9 on January 02, 2025, 07:59:12 PM
Happy New Year Everyone ! Been busy in my basement working on my Red GS Console. Went to Loren's "How To" post from May 27th 2022 to get the new slider tracks in place (Photo 418) Next I had to make a new Black plastic slider. I have a template from an original, so I cut up some cardstock on a paper trimmer to make a few samples. They worked good,  I went ahead and cut some out of Black plastic sheeting. Next I punched a 1/2" hole in the center using a gasket punch tool (Photo 109) I tried them in the slider tracks and they worked (Photo 318) I made a total of 8, I'm keeping 3. If you need a slider, the other 5 are available. I will have more available at the 2026 BCA meet in Albany, NY.
But for now more Winter "How To" Projects.  :idea1:
Next : A simple way to improve the looks of the storage compartment.

              Tony

Thanks Tony for sharing!

This is the sort of thing that I have done for Biquette thanks to my experience with my model railroad.  Once you get an eye for things that are 1/72 their regular size: 12" inches to the foot isn't nearly as intimidating!
