Oh no, that is sad news. I was hoping he would recover.
I've also bought parts from him several times and always enjoyed corresponding with him.
I finally welded on a quarter panel section to one of my 66 projects that I got from him. I imagine I will be reminded of him for years to come. He certainly was a kindred spirit to me as many of you here are. RIP Bill, you will be missed.

Dear Loren and 65GS.com community,

So sorry to hear this. It is especially sad to for someone who so loved automotives to meet such a fate. So many people drive as if their vehicle wasn't much more important than the wrapper of a fast-food meal. The world would surely be a better place if everyone had the respect and empathy for our 4-wheeled transportation that we all have here.
Rest in peace Bill and may his family be comforted.
Let this be another reason for all of us to be extra careful on the roads at this time of year. Like it or not, there is a good chance that the man or woman driving that other vehicle won't be.

Even after a two day, 1500-mile drive, to get back to Nebraska. I'm still in shock.
I won't ever forget the morning calls and his first comment " Did I catch you at a bad time?"
Above is a link to his obituary. It pales in telling of Bill. There is so much more about this man than can be said in an obituary.

Dear Loren and mid-60s Buick caregivers who have to struggle with our very human world,
Even after a two day, 1500-mile drive, to get back to Nebraska. I'm still in shock.

Thank you Loren for being our emissary. I'm sure that long drive under tough conditions only added to a stressful situation. Try to find some quiet, peaceful moments to take care of yourself as you prepare for the Wednesday service.
I've always found the Christmas season to be particularly difficult considering the extent to which people make themselves effectively drunk in merrymaking. The reasons for hope are hardly simple or guaranteed. Yesterday while visiting Corsica, the Pope pleaded for a dialog between the secular and religious, instead of faith being forced underground. May we all find the courage to remind the rest of the world that Christmas isn't simply an excuse to party - no matter how many times we are called a party pooper for our honesty.
