I have been blessed with so many friends over the years through this hobby.
One special friend is in need of our prayers at this time. I'm asking for everyone to join me in a prayer for our good friend Dan Ankeney who is in the hospital in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He is waiting for more information regarding his diagnosis and treatment plan.
Dan has been a constant friend to me, constant contributor on this forum and a friend to all of us that have met him. I wish and pray for the best possible for our friend Dan as he awaits prognosis.
Thank you and God's blessing for Dan at this time of need,
Loren

We're praying from Michigan that he will be blessed with a positive prognosis!

Unfortunately, Dan has been diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a cancerous tumor in his brain. A treatment plan is being developed starting with radiation intended to shrink the tumor. Prayers continue to definitely be needed!

I am again very deeply saddened to have to inform you all that we have lost another great Buick friend. I learned this morning that Dan lost his battle with cancer today around 8:30 A.M.
I also want to thank Jim and Kathy Modaschel for everything they did helping Dan.

Cathy and I were with Dan this week. On Wednesday he said how much he appreciated the prayers and support from everyone here. We have lost another great friend and prominent member of the Buick community. Dan is now reunited with his wife Patricia, who he so dearly loved and missed. May they rest in peace.

I share those thoughts with Loren and Jim. The loss of a really good friend, but bittersweet happiness that he's no longer suffering. And a comforting image of Dan reunited with Pat, resting in peace together. We will all miss Dan's presence here and in close friendships.
Special thanks to Jim and Cathy for going above and beyond in caring for Dan in these past months. I know it was a labor of love, confirming a special bond with Dan, but know that it is greatly appreciated by those of us that cared but weren't able to be there for him in the ways that you were. God's blessings on you for your loving care of Dan!
With deep sadness,
Chuck

Dear Loren, Jim, Chuck, Michael, and 65GS.com community,
So sorry to hear that we have lost another dear friend to this community. During the holiday season, I have always struggled with the need to "paint a smile on your face." This year has been just as tough as last year when I lost another dear Buick friend. Nonetheless, at least I find some comfort in being honest with my sorrow than pretending otherwise.
May we all find some solace in the hopes for a new creation that truly embodies the promises of salvation . . . .
