Hey all i,m sure this has been brought up before but i couldn't,t find any posts about it .
Just wondering what color silver was on the very bottom of the grill and on the lower headlight filler panels .
Has anyone found or have a paint code/color for them ?

I believe it was brought up a few times but not sure if anyone actually showed a code for what would have been lucite lacquer type paint. I played with several colors and in experiments I found GM WA8867 to be a nice match to my originals. If you look in a paint book you will also see Chrysler PS2 code is identical to the GM color. O?Reilly?s actually has these available in a lacquer spray can that works very good if you clean it with a prep sol or acetone. I used those green scotch brite pads and cleaned after lightly scratching the surface. I would not recommend over painting the chrome?.it is easier to chip.

Krylon "Dull Aluminum" has been the consensus on this Board.

I've used "Argent" in the past on an original grill & it was a PERFECT match.

Hi,I believe Argent silver was the factory color for our chevelle ss wheels to so common gm color .jim

I believe that argent used on the rally wheels is also the aluminum look that that the Krylon spray has. These colors are nearly identical when you spray them out on a piece of plexiglass. The problem I was having is that some of these are enamel and some were just basecoat that requires clear coat to seal. I do not think the spray lacquer or the Krylon dull aluminum requires a clear top coat. Any clear coat would produce a shine that does not belong on these parts. I had the same issue on a nova restoration for that plastic piece below the grille?.not supposed to be glossy like modern clear coats so a single stage coat is ideal.
