This could be an international problem, we suffer the same culture here.

   Same here in NYC, there are help wanted signs everywhere. Even our local Walgreens Pharmacy had closed down for weeks because they did not have enough employees to keep the store open. Several months ago I was helping an elderly man in the hardware isle in our local Big Box store and I was approached by the manager of the hardware department and he offered me a job ! Part time OR full time, I politely declined saying that I have enough projects to last a lifetime.....

And just to clarify Loren,  that sign is probably NOT A JOKE !  We've had it happen first hand in our business ,  hired 3  different people over the years and were suppose to start the next monday and never showed up . Never even a phone call as to why .
