Title: Could I get some pricing opinions please
Post by: GranSportSedan on March 04, 2023, 12:21:59 PM
A while back I started collecting parts for a 65-66 GS 4 speed conversion. Some stuff new where it was available and the other stuff original parts. Then I ended up buying my 65 GS 3 speed back and didn't need the 4-speed setup anymore. I have somebody interested in purchasing it but I don't know what the actual value of this stuff is.
I have
correct 65-66 GS floor shift steering column,
the manual transmission steering column support plate
66 GS manual pedal assembly
OEM flywheel
Nice bell housing w/shaft
Swing set cut from donor car
New Spring for shaft
NOS release bearing
All correct GS clutch linkage
65 GS 4 speed trans
Shifter handle
Repro shifter hump, boot and ring

The only parts missing is shifter and rods and clutch assembly

What is a ballpark starting point for this stuff?  This is NOT a for sale post.

Thanks, Bob

Well i,m certainly no expert on pricing as i probably over pay a lot of times but when i bought my bell housing flywheel and clutch linkage parts i payed a grand .
I would say the minimum on everything you have there would be 3 grand and have seen that stuff as high as 5k .

I'll throw this out there. I'm likely at the low end of values. Facebook/eBay pricing could easily be double.
$2k to $3k would be my estimate for the package.

$200- correct 65-66 GS floor shift steering column,
$25- the manual transmission steering column support plate. Avail new $32
$100- 66 GS manual pedal assembly. Chevelle repo avail $100
$250- OEM flywheel. Avail new $335 T/A Performance
$300- Nice bell housing w/shaft. Aftermarket avail $400
$xxx- Swing set cut from donor car.
$xx- New Spring for shaft, Sean's repo $90
$50- NOS release bearing
$300- All correct GS clutch linkage
$700- 65 GS 4 speed trans
$75- Shifter handle
$100- Repro shifter hump, boot and ring

Walt,
Doesn't the GS clutch pedal assembly have a better ratio than the Chevrolet pedal assembly? Who sells 65-66 reproduction GS Bell housings?

I'm not aware of the GS pedals having a different ratio. I'm pretty sure the GS and  V6 pedals I have are the same....maybe I should take a closer look.

The bellhousing isn't a repo, it's the Bendsten one. There's also one from Quick Time that's sfi approved on sale for $479 from Summit.

It's tough to put a price on original GS items like the bellhousing and linkage, they don't show up very often.
Oh, I forgot the GS steering column has the removable coupler flange, often used on big-blocks. Add extra value there.

Anyone else here have an opinion on pricing?

Thanks for the input. I told the guy I would need $2800 for everything and he decided he didn't want a 4 speed that bad. I feel that's a fair price for everything including new hump, shifter boot, trim ring, all the boots for the linkage and all the hard to find factory parts. .

Price is more than fair as far as I can say?..I sold a similar set up for same money several years ago. By printing press standards of today it should be worth at least one third more. If you post it on here for sale it WILL sell.
