Looking at buying a surface conditioning tool from either Harbor Freight, Jegs, or Eastwood. I have a couple of questions about these sander/grinders and hoping someone one here has used one.
First, are they as good as advertised?
Second, are the consumables interchangeable between brands.
I am leaning towards a HF tool as they come with extra consumables and I am not going use it professionally, though I might try removing paint from a cedar board fence with it and that would be a lot of sanding.

I bought the Eastwood SCT before HF had a version. i would have bought HF Bauer version if it had been available. I waited a long time for a good sale from Eastwood. Stripped my frame with it using a combination of nylon bristles wheel and wire bristles wheel. It worked really well. Haven't tried on body panels yet but expect I'll have good results. I buy consumables from Amazon. No they all aren't the same size on amazon but many are. you have to be careful. I can't tell if any consumable brand is better than another...they are all made in China so probably no difference except cost.

Thanks Don, for the great response. HF seems to be out of them or are just now bring them to market. Either way I will be purchasing one soon.
