Title: Back in the saddle again
Post by: GranSportSedan on July 16, 2022, 09:20:01 AM
Happy Saturday Buick brothers!
As many of you are aware I've been looking for a 65 Special or thin pillar GS off and on for a few years. I had a pretty rare version 10 years ago and sold it. That car ended up on the east coast a a couple different 65GS.com group members owned it. John the latest owner sold it back to me this week. I'm totally tickled. I'm not selling the 66 Special project so I now have two projects. I'll be looking for 65 parts here soon.

I hope to be parting out a sedan in Northern California soon, daughter lives in Oregon, so drop off may be possible if I have something you need.

Thanks guys, I'm looking forward to driving it again. I've already been buying parts for it and it isn't even here yet.

Bob

I can sure appreciate your excitement about getting this car back.

I really like the color.

Plans for the car include installing my dual quad setup. A limited slip carrier and making sure all mechanical systems are in good working order. I have a 65 GS 4 speed transmission but frankly the 3 speed will suit me just fine. I bought a large cache of 65 parts from a local Buick restorer that is retiring and the car isn't even here yet. I have a complete 65 GS 4 speed conversion that I won't be using so I may post that up for sale soon.
