Title: vent window glass replacement

Hey all .  Has anyone replaced the vent window glass ?  Will the glass come out of the frame without removing the little chrome piece that the latch is attached to ? I'm don't want to remove the rivets that hold the chrome piece on as i,m sure ill never find them and they are probably a one time use .

Hi,does the shaft go thru the glass  or just attached  to the inside piece ? Usually I'd soapthe channel with 409 and a small screwdriver and work the channel from both ends till the glass starts moving ,as far as the rivets I've  used aluminum nails cut off or maybe just find the right-side aluminum  rivets. I know not much help  my other cars had the sliding pin latch.jim
