Title: 65 Skylark AC lines and condenser
Post by: Aussie Skylark on February 09, 2022, 11:14:09 PM
Hi Guys
Would anyone have the lines that run from the AC unit to the compressor and a condenser?
Thanks Marcus

Hi Marcus,
I should have them, but my parts are in Nebraska and we are in Florida till May.
Are you looking for a condenser or evaporator? Both are available new.
If you haven’t found anything by the end of May, contact me.
Apologies I can’t be of help with the parts right now.

Thanks Loren,
Yes, I'm after both the condenser and evaporator. Any suggestions where to buy new ones? I'm happy to wait for May to come around for the lines.
Thanks Marcus

Marcus,

Maybe Dan A will chime in on the condenser. I know he purchased one and it was correct. As for the evaporator, hopefully someone else has a recommendation.
There were two different evaporators used. There is one for the early cars that had the suction throttle valve [STV] system and a second style for the POA valve system. They are enough different where the valve attaches, that they don't interchange. The HVAC control levers on the dash are different also between the two systems. The early STV system has an extra vacuum line that the POA system doesn't use.
If you are using the POA system, the POA valve needs to be calibrated for the refrigerant. That can be done by the supplier of the valve.
Another point is that the rubber hose parts of the lines and the O-ring seals are specific for R134A. Original lines should have the rubber hose portions replaced. Without getting technical, R134A will leak through the rubber parts and that is why they need to be replaced.

I have boxes of AC parts I bought from board members if you can not find what fits your needs.
