Title: Factory steel wheel color question
Post by: Loren At 65GS on August 19, 2021, 08:06:40 PM

 I have to ask.
What shade black is correct for the original steel wheels?

Gloss black! Eastwood carries spray bombs for wheels in the black I believe!

Also Rust-Oleum # 7779 Gloss Black in the 8 oz can. Mix with a mid temperature automotive enamel reducer and load into a detail/touch-up gun 35-40 psi and spray 2 to 3 coats with a 5 minute flash time between coats and you will have a thick rich black gloss finish.

Eastwood Extreme Chassis Black Gloss Frame Paint Coating
3X more resins make it 3X more durable than original Chassis Black. Gallon - Quart - Aerosol.

I used this on a set of old keystone wheels for a friend. really nice to paint with and holding up excellent.
