Title: Photo Needed: Long auto console shifter slider plastic retaining "rails"
Post by: BuickGS65 on July 29, 2021, 01:36:05 PM
Hi Everyone:

I'm in preliminary discussions with a vendor to 3D print the always-broken plastic retaining "rails" that hold the shifter slider strip in place for the long auto consoles (underside of the long auto console shift plate). I know there are "hacks" like using vacuum hose to hold the shifter slider strip in place, but looking to possibly make a true replacement part.

Can someone please post photos of this part if you have one handy? Mine are all in my cars.

Thanks!

Pictures as requested.
Length is 5-1/2 inches flattened.

Having trouble getting responses from the vendor.

I think these would be an in-demand part. Anyone have a 3D printer or have a vendor recommendation?

Thank you.

This is a good friend of mine. Bill has the ability to 3D scan an old part and print new parts. He might be able to help. You would have to inquire about costs involved.
