Dear Jim, Glenn, Jon, Chuck, Milton, and mid-60s Buick caregivers,
I did not plan on buying another car but sometimes things just happen! It fits right in here!
Of course not! But that car obviously was in need of a good home - it found it!! :laughing7:
Congratulations Jim! :hello2:
Cheers, Edouard :occasion14:

Jim,
You bought this car from Jeff correct???
I just rebuilt the carb. & setup the distributor & installed electronic ignition.
Don't think it has been three weeks ago. Jeff was uterlly satiafied with it's newfound performance I thought he would never sell it. Had to be an atactive offer.

I need to look. I think he put the electric choke cover on wrong as the car starts hard. He was going to change it but didn?t have a Torx screwdriver. He said you just rebuilt the carb and distributor!
-
Jim,
Does the choke close when it's cold??? I believe that electric choke coil/cover was on it when I received it & after I rebuilt the carb. & installed it on a running/driving car it worked fine. With the engine & air cleaner off & cold
the choke will be partially open & when you pull back on the throttle with your hand the choke should fully close. IF it won't close fully loosen the 3 screws about a turn & a half & rotate the cover one more notch/line on the cover to the rich side.
When an engine is cold you need to set the choke by stepping on the gas pedal.

Congrats Jim, that's a sweet 66! I saw it when John 'Kooch' had it at the 2016 BCA Nats in Allentown. He had a few mods on it and Jeff put it back to 'more stock'. I have a red '66 GS with an aged paint job and this car is an inspiration for a repaint. The 66 sure looks great it red!
Here's a pic from the 2016 Nats, my Blue 66 is in the background up on the hill.

Thanks Tom, I will check it when we get home. I figured you could diagnose it! Jeff thinks he put the cover on in the wrong position when he had it off, that is what he told me.

What was the asking price, just for reference since I just bought one. not the same but in the ball park.
But seeing it has no clock ... I would have walked away....
LOL

Yes Jim I usually take the cover off because no matter how well you pack them for some reason the cover gets broken. I know I adjusted it correctly when I put it on the Riv.I use just for this purpose & it operated properly using the hot air supply tube from the right exhaust manifold.
Let me know how you make out.
