Looking for an air cleaner for our Fremont-built 1965 Skylark, the 355 version to go on top of a 400 CFM four barrel Carter AFB Carburetor. I need both the bottom and top pieces.
Condition-wise, it could be from decent usable condition (driver), restorable condition (not banged up or rusted out) to fully restored (ready for Pebble Beach).
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
The only difference between a CA version and a 49 state version is the hole for the closed crank case tube, so you should be able to modify one.
Also the upper is the same for a 2v or 4v just the tin label is different, also 64 has a different style snorkel not sure, but 66 and 67 might be different as well.
As for base, Chevrolet used the same style only the upper may be slightly different 64-67 I believe.
If I can find the one from my CA 210 air cleaner I will post a few pictures for reference
Good luck with the search
Regards,
Jim

Hi Loren! I just found one that looks like it will work. Thanks for the offer! But I do have a question. Was the AC filter data on the side of the top originally stamped onto the black painted top or was there another method it was applied? I only ask because I noticed all of mine are smeared ever so slightly. Thanks! John

John,
The AC filter data was printed , most likely silk screened, to the side. See attached picture.

Thanks Loren! Now I just need to figure out how to reproduce it!

John,
I seem to recall that there is a sticker made. I suppose a rubber stamp or a silk screen could be made. When I worked on aircraft interiors , the company I worked for had equipment to make silk screens. I don't know of a source though to do that.
I did a search for rubber stamp, custom. I knew these were reproduced, just couldn't recall earlier.
Here is a link to a correct decal from Classic Buicks .com.
