Title: p/s hoses
Post by: 35chevcoupe on January 17, 2021, 08:19:55 PM: Anyone have a source for power steering hoses ? non a/c if it makes any difference . or does someone reproduce them ?

Post by: gssizzler on January 19, 2021, 06:10:27 AM: No correct repro are available to my knowledge!? The original lines have steel lines with a slight bend in them that go to the steering box! Many replacement styles do not! Original pressure lines have shaped fittings and ribbed hoses! The low pressure hose has a special hose clamp that can be reused! I bought
several sets of a.c. Delco replacement ones from Rock Auto ,but not sure if they still have them! Although not a 100 percent correct they fit and function nice! I have a pair in the post car! Here's a picture! Disregard the placement as I have the inter fenders off right now and the routing isn't correct! Let me see if I can find part #! If I can find the pictures of nos ones I will post them for comparison!

Post by: gssizzler on January 22, 2021, 12:21:11 PM: Gate's # are 355340 pressure and 35250 return and A.C. # 36355340 pressure and 3635250 return ! Looks like Rock Auto still have these! Not sure if the return line has the angle on the metal line though!?

Post by: gssizzler on January 31, 2021, 09:43:03 PM: Here are some pics of NOS production style hoses, the return hose has a date code of 3/65! First time out of the bags! There is some flash rust and tarnish! They are over 50 years old after all! Also Correct NOS steering pump cap and rag joint!

Hey Dwiane , just got a message from rock auto that the AC hoses are not available and the gates are on back order .

realize this post is from earlier this year but anyway . Dwaine my p/s preasure hoses finally came from rock auto and even though I haven't installed them I think they look like they should fit pretty good . They had 3 different brands so i picked the Gates hoses ( part # 355340 ) 12.27 each
